Julie Schwartz, RIP

Peter David is reporting that Julie passed away this weekend. Julie was one of the first fathers of sci-fi fandom, and the man at DC during much of the Silver Age -- he's up there with Stan Lee in his importance to the industry. I was lucky enough to finally shake his hand at last year's DragonCon. He'll be missed. A lot.

I didn't get to actually meet him, but the only Comic-Con I've ever been to, I passed him in a hallway -- so I got to see him in person, at least.
