The good: DNAGENTS and Crossfire are being reprinted in trade paperback form! I was never a huge Crossfire fan, but DNAgents was another of those great indy comics that first led me away from the Big Two. Alas, the reprints are in B&W -- although the line art is great, having the top-notch coloring would have been a nice bonus. But I'll still buy 'em.

The bad: A woman in Texas (state motto: We gave you Bush) was arrested for selling sex toys at private parties. No, she's not being charged with operating without a license or whatnot; she's being charged under obscenity laws. My disgust at her arrest knows no bounds (but hey, this is the same state that convicted Juan Castillo of selling comic books to adults).

The good: The latest attempt by John "Walter Peck" Ashcroft to grossly exceed his authority (this time by subpoena medical records he had no right to without the consent of the patients) has been denied..

The bad: It's rainy and ugly outside, and I must soon take Miss Kid to the bus stop.

*winces* Just before you condemn me for living in this state, please remember that I am NOT a Texan, I am an Okie.

Man, now every time I hear Ashcroft's name, I'm going to think, "Yes, it's true; this man has no dick."

(Side note: William Atherton, who lives across the street from a friend of mine, is a very nice, soft-spoken man.)

Wow, guess that means he's a good actor then (grin). He's almost always gotten cast as "the dick." How about that.

You know, that's right... the coloring on DNAgents *was* really nice! I enjoyed that series a lot when I was in high school; it was one of the first independent titles I collected and I never could manage a decent run of it.

Dude, Dallas convicted Juan Castillo, not Texas. Texas is a big state, and not full of Bush-huggers, contray to what people seem to want to believe.
Texas didn't give the U.S. Bush, his brother did. Big diff.

Yeah, Florida did (hangs head in shame for not offing Kathryn Harris when he had the chance)
