[livejournal.com profile] shadesong: What should I change my name to?

[livejournal.com profile] yendi: I though you were just going to use your first name and my last name?

[livejournal.com profile] shadesong: Yeah, but I don't like my first name.

[livejournal.com profile] yendi: Well, how about Gojira? You could be Gojira Lipkin.

[livejournal.com profile] shadesong: No.

[livejournal.com profile] yendi: How about Mothra?

[livejournal.com profile] shadesong: No. And don't say Gamera, either.

[livejournal.com profile] yendi: I wasn't. I was going to suggest Rodan

[livejournal.com profile] shadesong: Nah. Everyone will confuse me for the painter, Rodin.

[livejournal.com profile] yendi: Then you could make your middle name "Not-the-painter."

[livejournal.com profile] shadesong: "Rodan Not-the-painter Lipkin?"

[livejournal.com profile] yendi: It could work

Alas, it looks like my suggestions aren't going to be accepted today. But she still hasn't turned down "Megalon Lipkin." So there's hope.

Yes. Though I have recieved an edict from my mother that if the roads get horrible as they are predicting possible, I'm not going anywhere.

I reminded her I lived in South Bend last winter, and stay away from other cars when wintery driving in Atlanta.

Thus, I shall hopefully see you at 8.

I think it's really scary that, the moment I saw "Mothra," I mentally predicted (a) that the name of Rodan would come up and (b) that Shadesong would reject it on the basis of its homophonic association with Rodin the artist.

Only tangentially, I imagined Shadesong saying, "I'd always have to say 'I'm Rodan not the artist.'"

Ah man, go for class. Why choose a monster?

There are a ton - a TON - of very appropriate, kick-ass Japanese names that would wig them all out and do the job very nicely.

You two *are* going to go see the original-version Gojira when it hits theaters, yes?
