Yet another reason why I am glad to be a non-Catholic. Of course, this could be yet another clue the Pope is going mad. Time to send him to the old folks home and elect a new Pope.

Well, he does have one valid point... If some people studied their religions as closely as they studied sports, we'd have... well... we'd have....

Uhh, I think we'd have a lot more unitarianists and/or pagans, frankly.

Someone needs to up his medication, or give him some, or something.

And the Catholic Church wonders why so many American Catholics are turning away from them? I think that hat the Holy Father wears has put too much pressure on his brain.

I think His Holiness errs in this case. I live in Cincinnati, a very Catholic city..and I can guarentee that many prayers are offered to many saints each Sunday during the season.

Yes, but the Pope is barely alive. Did he say this or did someone say it for him?

"Only watch college football, and... change your underwear six times a day. And wear it on the outside of your clothes so we can check. And everybody should make hats out of bread and wear them, and you should finish eating them by dinner time. And...."

You know, the Bible says to make the 7th day (whatever you want to consider "Day 7") as a day of rest. Personally, I think watching sports falls under that category. Unless, of course, one happens to be a fan of a team that does something inherently stupid like somehow managing to lose 3 consecutive NFC championships, 2 of them being at home. That's enough to disturb anyone's rest.
