Obviously you haven't seen the trailer for White Chicks. (http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/white_chicks/)

But yes, "Catwoman" looks pretty damn bad.

I was staring at the screen in disbelief during the White Chick preview. WTF?

I can't recall any other time that I've seen a trailer where virtually the entire audience was struck with mouth-open disbelief. You could have heard a pin drop.

I nearly lost my lunch when I saw the preview picture in Entertainment Weekly's Summer Movie Preview. Ewww. It just seems so....wrong....

I have a feeling they should call that Race/Off. Two things went through my mind as I saw it:

(1) It's hilarious trying to imagine the face of the Voice of God squirming in agony even as he successfully delivers his narration.

(2) This is the kind of film that's going to be a hit, at least over here.

I'm among those who are disappointed that this version of Catwoman has nothing whatsoever to do with Batman...

It just seems wrong. Though Halle Berry is an excellent choice for the role...

Your intestines could save lives!

This cracked me up big-time! I can't see the trailer for Catwoman either, and the only regret I have for being unable to do so is that it doesn't confirm my suspicions for this film.

Haha, same here. If you have a download resumer like Getright or Download Accelerator, you can just copy and paste the link into it and save it to your drive.

I am ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY looking forward to the Catwoman movie only because I pray that it is SO terrible that it absolutely KILLS Halle Berry's career. The death of Halle Berry's career is something I dream of in my sleep. Seriously.

Okay, I confess. I used FreshDownload to watch it. Just once though, and I erased it. I get the impression that it'll turn out to be a big hit over here. I shall weep now...

...but not before saying that while I don't necessarily hate Halle Berry, I just can't figure out what the fuss over her is all about.

I can't think about a Catwoman movie without being reminded of those stunts Sean Young pulled. Yeegah.

Yeah, it didn't help that she was leaving baby dolls and other nice trinkets on James Woods' doorstep around the same time, did it?

Who would have though that Rachael would turn out that way? *laughs*

I remain undecided as to which is scarier: Sean Young's stunts at the WB studios, or Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde.

And second, that outfit just SUCKS.

First, I'm not sure about Halle Barry being Catwoman.

I, on the other hand, am absolutely sure about Halle Berry NOT being Catwoman.

Agree passionately on the second item.

Everything I've seen about this movie really firms up the standard for what I consider to be awful.

Oh, it's going to suck. I knew that the second I saw the costume. I mean, what the heck?

I miss Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman. I was never into comic books, so she was it for me.

Ditto to everything you said here. The only good thing to come out of the Halle Berry film is that it's going to convince some of those out there who are still moaning about "how much they changed!" in the Catwoman depicted in Batman Returns.

Maybe I'm an elitist snob, but I like movies that actually have a plot. Doesn't have to be an earth-shattering, world-changing plot (hmm, those are usually bad plots anyhow). It just has to tell a *story*. And the trailer should give you a brief glimpse of that story. Maybe just a bare setup, but enough to draw you in.

A trailer that shows nothing but jumping, spinny kicks, dropping down from a height to land in prowling position, and extreme closeups of Halle's clearly costume-and-CGI-enhanced chest does not give me a glimpse into the plot of the movie. Oh, wait, maybe it does--the plot might be "Catwoman jumps, kicks, falls, and shows her chest."

This is why I love good old movies.

Go to the website (http://www.catwomanmovie.com) and read the synopsis. She becomes the cat version of spiderman. Give me a break!!!! I AM AN ELISTIST SNOB!!!
I am a Batman afficianado. A purist. I even told Joel Schumacher's production guys how to do the bat right. Ask my wife [livejournal.com profile] moniqueleigh. We were working at kinko's when they filmed "A Time To Kill" in Canton, MS. They came in and photocopied dozens of Batman comix. I wrote out several excellent issues to use. They obviously paid no attention to the comix we copied nor my list.
Marvel comix flix are better - I prefer DC mags - because they use the actual characters from the books.
Part of the synopsis for Crapwoman even sounds derivative of Birds of Prey.
Just my $4.00. (2cents plus inflationary overevalution)

If it's any comfort, Cuaron's snotty casting office didn't listen to my suggestion... suggestion, mind you, for at least a reading for someone who would have been just as good as Oldman and resembles the canon descriptions of the character a whole bluidy lot more than the (extremely talented) Wee Brun Man [/Scottish].

[points at icon] We, being those who wrote letters, were very polite, too, blast them. I hate PoA's artistic style already.

That looked so formulaic, it hurt. DC must be desperate to capture some of that X-Money. It reeked of generic revenge actioner with sex fetishwear. It's being sold on its sex and SFX. Oh well. I can pass.

Errr. I am not a big fan of Halle Berry as an actress. She just never really seems to emote, if you know what I mean. And this movie? *shiver*
They should have paid Michelle Pfiefer whatever she wanted to reprise the role from the second Batman movie.

...I read the snyopsis and watched the preview, and it looks like another movie I won't be watching. Is it just me, or does there seem like there's nothing really "Catwoman" at all in this movie? No Batman tie-in/mentions...She's black, not white...her name's changed.

What did this movie company do? Just buy the rights to the name and decide "Cool name, now let's make a movie around it." *headshake*
