Random Tuesday thoughts
May. 11th, 2004 12:45 pm(I'd thought about calling this post "Bleys Tuesday Thoughts," but figured that might be too silly)
1. I've got a bad habit of singing along under my breath to whatever iTunes music is coming through my headphones. This is exacerbated when I'm in the midst of working on stuff that takes concentration, and I tune out almost everything else.
So, seeing as the last two songs were XTC's "Dear God," and Aerosmith's "Love in an Elevator," I'm not sure how happy my conservative Christian neighbor is with me right now. Hope I haven't been singing too loudly (not that many other folks in this hell known as Cubetown give a rat's ass about being too loud, but said neighbor is one of the few who actually comprehends courtesy).
2. Yesterday, I had my physical. Obviously, we won't know how things really look until the blood tests come back, but so far, so good. I'm very capable of turning my head and coughing. Who knew?
3. Yesterday, we also found out that the kick-ass house we wanted to rent is ours as soon as we sign a lease this Thursday! Yay! Aside from moving, of course, but yay, anyway, as it's big and has a real kitchen (pantry included), and lots of office space.
4. You know what really sucks? To have a co-worker walk into a team meeting twenty minutes late, then, after another twenty minutes, having her ask about the topic that was discussed (as per the agenda) at the beginning of the meeting. Grr. She's one of the K&K crew, two otherwise people on our team who have the magical ability to extend any meeting they attend by at least twenty minutes. They managed to tag-team at this one.
5. Hey, think my review of Van Helsing was funny? Check out this one. Snarking about VH may become its own interest, at this rate.
6. And hey, could the world get any better? How about the 2-disc special edition of Highlander 2: The Quickening (both the original and the 2-disc version are the "renegade" versions of the film, which prove that Zeist really has nothing to do with the movie sucking).
And hey, on that note, look what just popped up on iTunes!

Which is especially important, since the current song is Billy Joel's "Captain Jack." :-)

Date: 2004-05-11 11:43 am (UTC)I was at a convention where someone started a question to Bill Panzer (the "producer") with, "In the second movie..."
Bill said, "What second movie? Next question."

Date: 2004-05-11 12:55 pm (UTC)On Item #5 Your review made me want to go see Van Helsing just for the goof factor... Like Starship Troopers only worse.

Date: 2004-05-12 08:18 am (UTC)Did you get Van Helsing flashbacks when they came at you with the stake/mallet?

Date: 2004-05-11 11:47 pm (UTC)2. I haven't had a physical in ages, but I'm pretty confident that I can also hum with a piece of sandpapered wood against my tongue. I just hope the doctor doesn't expect me to do Aerosmith or XTC.
6. I didn't quite understand Highlander 2: The Quickening, and the news of the DVD intrigues me. Perhaps I can inveigle my brother into plunking down the cash for it.
And hey, on that note, look what just popped up on iTunes!
I love those, but my heart still belongs to "Flash Gordon." *grins*
