Sideshow Cecil: "I would prefer it if you not refer to Princeton in that manner."

No time for a super long post. Suffice to say, getting here was the single worst travel experience I ever had, and although I got to the Atlanta airport at 11:00AM on Thursday, I only arrived at the hotel at 5:30AM on Friday. I'll do a real post about that once I get home.

The conference has been great so far, with good food and entertainment. After years of only having placeslike Emory and UGA to look at, I'd forgotten what a genuinely beautiful old campus looks like. I'm going to be taking a walking tour of the gargoyles this afternoon. :-)

The town is also pretty, with some damned fine live music, coffee, and ice cream. Hotel is nice, but no fast connection except for the one computer in the business office (which is often in use), so I'm not really trying to catch up on email.

Finished a bunch of books already, most notably Michael Marshall Smith's The Upright Man. Not as good as the first book, but still a worthwhile and fast read.

I'm on a lab computer post-breakfast, so no real chance to catch up on reading, I'm afraid. If anything important happens on LJ before Tuesday night, email me, 'cuz I otherwise won't know.

Oh, any Atlanta folks insane enough to feel like picking me up at the airport on Tuesday (flight arrives at 4:39)? Email me if you can.

Off to first session of the day. Sunday? We don't need no stinkin' Sundays here. It's a conference.

PS. Happy Father's Day to all the dads on my friends list!

We've got to get you over to Oxford for a really old campus one of these days. ;)

Trinity's okay, but the Merton Library is one of the favourites. :)

I've never had to deal with many of the airports on the East coast, but one day might have to and now I don't want to. God your story sounds like a nightmare!
