First, link thanks to [livejournal.com profile] hangingfire, I now have read all of the new X-Force 1. This combines the worst artist in the history of mainstream comics (Rob Liefeld) with the worst writer in the history of mainstream comics (Fabien Nicieza, who makes early Ron Marz look like Neil Gaiman). It's just as bad as it sounds.

Then, yesterday's USA Today announced that Marvel had signed a deal for a direct-to-video version of the Avengers. Nothing wrong with that, except for the line they used to announce it:

The first title in the eight- to 10-picture deal is The Avengers, based on the top-selling comic book series The Ultimates and due on DVD in 2006.

Um, say what?

How is it Marvel can get it right with Spidey and to a lesser extent XMen, but so screw up other things....then again they dont anally rape their stuff like WB does with their DC product...

Quite correct...however I think we both know why the WB chose to call it Constantine

*looks at X-force 1 cover*

Imagine, that someone could spend all that time detailing all those muscles - more muscles than have been seen on any actual arm, ever - and neglect to draw an elbow.

Probably the reason it doesn't have an elbow is that it also seems to lack a forearm--straight from bicep, tricep and whatever other muscles he's crowded in there--to hand. I'm not even sure there's a wrist in there.

All I can really say is that while I'll never get back the brain cells I burnt or the time I spent while reading that steaming heap, at least I didn't pay money for it.

I guess you saw that AICN was saying that Jack Black wis going to be Green Lantern?

I think it is all BS, but, nowadays anything goes.

Legit, maybe.

Whether it makes the silver screen is another matter.

Just look at all the trouble they are having with Superman.

I remember when AICN's Moriarty reported that Anthony Michael Hall was going to star on Enterprise as well...

it prob is legit, but I give AICN and its head whore Harry The Hutt all the credibility of the Weekly World News....

Yes, AINC never gets the benefit of the doubt from me, which is why I didn't mention the GL story on my LJ.

Nothing is as annoying to THIS comic book fan as Keanu shit-for-acting-skills Reeves as Constantine.

Nothing.

if I were the Lord, I'd use my vengeance on that film, I'd rip it to shreds with divine justice, hire Sting and Start Over.

Wait, is that a new comic or from 1990? The art looks the exact same. And it's the same characters.. wtf? Is it a time travel episode, since I see 2004 on the page?

And Nicieza never could write. Man. Makes me glad I'm not into comics any longer.

Feet!

Well at least Rob has managed to improve on his drawing of feet.

Considering how bad it was the first time around that is saying something...
