Sarcastic, or stupid?

License plate slogan seen today:

I Ride With "God"

So, was the person being sarcastic? Do they not believe in God? Do they have a friend whose nickname is "God?" Or do they just have no fucking clue when it comes to quotation marks?

Yeah, I'd make people pass a grammar test to get into Heaven.

Perhaps the quotation marks reflected the sloganeer's nod to the fact that there are so many earthly names for the Divine One.

Could be, but I've rarely seen any license plate that attempted any level of truly deep meaning.

Perhaps they were "Getting Off Drugs," or providing transportation for their "Game Operations Director." Maybe they had a "Global Orbital Defense" system, or a "Galactic Observation Device."


Or maybe the name thing. Who knows.

Of course, there was a computer game company a while back named "Gathering of Developers." Maybe the driver is just a big fan of "4x4 Evolution."

When I was in seventh grade, we had a grammar class as separate from writing or literature and we had to diagram sentences. Yeah. I used to ace that part because it was a cross between solving puzzles, making pictures, and language. What could be more perfect?

So do I get to be one of those angels covered in eyes and wings?

I loved diagramming sentences! And yeah, I think one of the reasons I so enjoyed diagramming sentences was because it was so puzzle-like.
