A while back, I found a work around for that problem. Before I submit a poll, I save the original entry, complete with the original HTML source code, to a backup text file. If I need to edit the poll, I just open the backup text file (in its raw HTML format) and make the corrections.
Then, I edit the original entry by deleting the entire text within the entry, copy the updated version, and paste the new version into the original entry. LJ considers this to be a new poll, but there is no duplicative content.
