Finished Radiant (by James Alan Gardner) yesterday. It's the first time in a while I finished a book in a day. I think it may be the best book Gardner's written. It's also very much immersed in Festina Ramos continuity for those of us who have read the earlier books, without requiring knowledge of them. Either way, you should read it.

Tut may be my new all-time favorite supporting character. He's an insane man with a gold mask welded to his face who spends most of his time at the beginning of the novel attempting to polish his mask with everything from pureed mushrooms in hot chocolate to the main character's underwear.

Oh, and for fans of the earlier books, there's a lot of The Balrog in this one.

Good to hear the new book is good.

I was starting to lose hope on Gardner.

Yeah. Trapped sucked. It sucked a lot.

heh, the Balrog is one of my favorites (he's the one who helps out Oar, right? and claims to pretend to be a buffoon because it makes it easier to relate to a god-like power if it acts silly?)
