Rogue Chocolate Stout Cheddar!

I don't think there's any food that I've done as much of a 180 on as cheese. As a kid, I hated it, in every form, and refused to eat cheeseburgers, even, until my college years (pizza was always an exception). Now, I adore the stuff.

I need to find this one. One of my favorite beers used to make cheddar. Yum.

Summits Wayside Tavern's been doing a Rogue thing the 15th of every month...one keg at each of the 3 locations of a particular Rogue they dont normally carry in GA...quite wonderful..

Would love to try this cheese as well..

ah plant tastings...fuck the Atlanta City Council for trying to kill Sweetwater and Atlanta Brewing's weekly tastings...

...'cheesegasm'?

kinda reminds me of that L7 song 'wargasm.'

'cheesegasm cheesegasm 1 2 3
monterey jack and a slice of brie'

*sits down*

also, when rogue ale (http://www.rogueales.com/) touches other beer bottles in the fridge, does it assume their powers?

Oh no no no. Chocolate and cheese is the undiscovered dynamic duo. Yes, you need a mild cheese, such as a good Vermont white cheddar, and milk chocolate, like Cadbury's milk. Get the cheese all nice and soft, and the chocolate at room temperature... the two is like heaven on earth.

See? But Rogue's chocolate stout isn't like milk chocolate. I think it's actually called Rogue Mocha Porter. It's not that super sweet American chocolatey. It's more like a semi-sweet dark chocolate, and the flavor is pretty faint, more of an aftertaste of chocolate. That said, prehaps the cheese wouldn't be that bad, considering that cheese and beer go together just fine.

Amusingly, I kinda like Ween. I've taken [livejournal.com profile] vidicon, who is a huge Ween fan, to two of their concerts and I enjoyed what I heard. They're much better live. But I just can't wrap my brain around eating chocolate and cheese together.

That is, by the way, where I got that phrase though. Thanks for catching that.

My little one is the same way - she won't touch cheese except on tacos, and then only if it's nowhere near the meat, so it didn't melt at all. But pizza is okay.

Sounds yummy. I've had cheddar with Guiness, and I've also had chocolate Stout (not this brand but ones that are made here in the UK, such as Young's and others).

Works for me. :)

Tonight's top story:

A rampaging Rogue Cheddar went through the gastric system of one Atlanta resident, causing lactic havoc.

When villi were asked to comment on the chaos, all they could do was vibrate in terror.

We've tried it, I think- something similar, anyway. It tasted like a very nice cheddar. No discernible stout flavor involved, but it was really cool-looking. The one we tried may not have been the Rogue version, though.

Have you ever tried anything from Dogfish Head brewery? Wow.

Hey! That stuff was at the cheese tasting I went to! It was quite good, really. I'm not usually a big cheddar fan, but this was mild and smooth and totally yummy.
