yendi*gasp* I'm shocked. Of course, he didn't "know" that it was a steroid. Surely, he was fooled by his deceptive trainer. *nod*
Oh, and for more on Giambi, how about this Jon Heyman article? It's almost like Giambi was a throwback to Babe Ruth. Except ruth had natural talent to go with his hedonism, and Giambi needed 'roids.
(Of course, the obvious question to ask Heyman is, why didn't you mention any of this earlier?, but we all know that the sports media are the last bastion of the pre-Kennedy "protect the celebrities at all costs" era).
The best fallout from this, as a Mets fan, is that the Mets might finally be giving up on trading for Sosa. Small relief, but I'd rather be stuck with guys like Floyd and Piazza -- whose talents may be fading, but who at least aren't being helped along by associations with 'roids -- than guys like Sosa who will likely be out of the game within two years.
