dtaylor links to this summary of a post by my hero Patton Oswalt of a conversation he had with David Cross about a Fox programmer's rationalization of Fox cutting the order for Arrested Development.
And if you think that sentence is convoluted, check out the reasoning employed by Fox.
I heard Will Arnett (GOB) saying about the same thing on a radio station around here. He added that the original plan for the season was to move Arrested Development to the nine o'clock hour when the Seth MacFarlane shows came back to Sundays. But that got complicated when Desperate Housewives became the gargantuan hit of the year. Now Fox has no confidence in the show holding its own in the time slot, so it's scrambling.
But Arnett also agreed that it was crazy Fox troll logic.
What a waste, and for some truly crappy reasoning. Have to admit, though, if they cancelled that brilliant show, I would immediately begin sharpening my ". . .and they leave THIS on the air???" knife.
