Runaway alarm clock

An alarm clock (named "Clocky," which makes it sound like a resident of Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends) that runs away to a hiding place after you hit the snooze button, so you can't snooze for hours on end.

(Still very much a beta -- it's from the MIT Media Lab)

we have a mobile alarm clock that makes a bunch of noise to wake us up, then runs away when we try to shut it up. we call it 'a cat.'

See, Jack (and I verified this today) hears the alarm clock, and assumes it's for him. So he hops out of bed and heads to the kitchen. He's like an anti-alarm clock.

Er, why not just have a complicated-to-undo-while-half-asleep setting that makes the snooze button only work once?

Becuase I'm remarkably crafty when I'm asleep. I can do damn near anything to get the clock to turn off, as long as I don't have to have my eyes open for too long or get out of bed. I'd probably figure out a way to thwart Clocky after a while, but it's still too cool.:)
