Father's Day, so far

1. Trip to the Deluxe Town Diner. I did not get bacon, as the corned beef hash there is just too good to pass up. I did have huevos rancheros, which were damned good. 'song had a sweet potato waffle and hash browns, and Elayna had a bagel and some Frosted Flakes.

2. Gifts from family include cards, a homemade bookmark (one of Elayna's traditional gifts), the Binary Dad shirt, Roger Ebert's Your Movie Sucks, and the Ark of the Covenant. I opened the last one to kill any residual Nazis hanging out at the house.

3. Later, we'll be seeing Pirates of the Caribbean 3 and getting ice cream.

It's a good day, and I've got a great family.

2. Roger Ebert recently reported (http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/frontpage) "a beautiful bouquet of flowers was delivered to the house the other day. A handwritten note paid compliments to my work and wished me a speedy recovery.

Who was it from? A friend? A colleague? An old classmate? The card was signed, 'Your Least Favorite Movie Star, Rob Schneider.'"

The title of Your Movie Sucks was taken from Ebert's review of Schneider's Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo.

I just read in shadesong's journal and I felt that I needed to come over here and give you a great, big, Father's Day hug.
