Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] laurel for pointing out the existance of http://dragaera.info/links/ -- a page approved of by Steven Brust, so far offering links to other Brust resources (including one I'd never seen before), and a mailing list. Do you even have to ask if I joined?

So I'm about halfway through Dead Until Dark now, and really getting into it. The Anita Blake comparisons are valid, to a point, but unlike Anita, this narrator/protagonist starts out as a true innocent -- both physically, and spiritually -- she's never dabbled in dark arts, and has avoided using her powers as much as she can. No experience zombie master/vampire slayer here. So her ignorance of vamp society makes a lot more sense.

There's plenty of erotic moments, but never at the expense of the plot or characters (the latter being stronger than the former, which is really just an old fashioned small-town mystery). I'll be adding the sequel to my Amazon wishlist soon.

Daredevil costume is up, and I quote my friend Lee, whose opinion I agree with: Worst. Costume. Ever.

All it's missing are fake nipples.

I have nothing against Christians, but I have something serious against the frigging sabateurs on Amazon who are recommending various Xtian books "instead of" every fucking horror book on Amazon. It's abusive of the feature, and really pissing me off. And yes, I damned well intend to start recommending The Satanic Bible on each xtian book's "instead of" page if they don't stop.

I've mentioned before that the Library does some great free food shindigs. Well, the New Staff Coffee (which they hold quarterly) was schedule for three, and us ITD folks get to go to them. All the previous Coffees were in the morning, and consisted of awesome coffee and pastries. This one had the coffee. But although there were some lovely key lime mini-tarts, the main focus was on chicken wings and pigs in blankets. Weird. I kept expecting to look up and see a football game.

Well, not a feature. It's a lack of one. Why the hell can't I edit comments? I can edit posts, but I make mistakes in comments, too. Hell, I make more mistakes in comments, since there's no spellcheck option.

Yes, I know I misspelled cliffhanger last night. :-(
