According to davisdvd.com:

Anchor Bay has announced a 9/24 street date for Near Dark (one of the best vampire flicks ever!) and The Sleepaway Camp Survival Kit box set featuring all three Sleepaway Camp movies plus extras.

Near Dark is my favorite vampire film of all time (I believe that the Kathryn Bigelow/James Cameron divorce agreement gave her the talent and him the success), and the first Sleepaway Camp movie is a damned fine and innovative horror flick (and, interestingly enough, the only film I've ever seen that really captures the summer camp experience accurately, murders aside). And the latter two Sleepaway Camp films are campy fun (in the second flick, all victims are named after Brat Pack members, and in the third, they're named after West Side Story and Brady Bunch characters).

Of course, I can't find any confirmation on the Anchor Bay page, but I'm hoping this is legit.

Okay, it's weird, but I kinda take pride in the interests in my journal that aren't clickable -- the ones that only I have. That's why I haven't added Liavek as an interest -- [livejournal.com profile] laurel is the only one with it, so I wouldn't want to remove it from that place in her interest list (and besides, if you can't figure out that I'm a Liavek fan from the fact that I like Emma Bull, Will Shetterly, Kara Dalkey, Steven Brust, etc, you probably don't care, anyway).

So I was shocked to discover that I'm down to one unique interest. I still have Kara Dalkey, but someone else ([livejournal.com profile] chastmastr) went and added Codename Knockout (and since he also added the writer and all the characters, he's obviously a bit more obessed than I am.

So damn, I need to find another unique interest or two. But legit ones. I wanna be the cool kid who's into good stuff years before anyone else. :-)

So, the sunburn managed to wake me up about ten times last night. Every time I shifted, I rubbed it against the hot-as-hell sheets. Had to get up at least three times to put on more aloe.

Needless to say, I'm tired and out of it now. And worse, I made the mistake of going to Park Bench for lunch with Kathy, and we pigged out (and unlike her, I'm not pregnant), so I'm extra lethargic this afternoon. I'm now drinking my fourth cappuccino from the vending machine.

http://he-man.org/ is reporting that there will be a new Masters of the Universe series in August! And a comic book!

It seems that every issue of Time is attuned to my personal zeitgeist -- a couple of weeks ago, there was an article on the Flylady, a few weeks before that there was something on Asperger's, etc.

Anyway, this week's issue (the one with the Asshole in Chief on the cover, dated June 17) has an article on the Hives. It's not on their website yet, but it's a fun read.

When Elayna gets back from Florida, I wanna get her a Money Savvy Pig.

Part of it is just the principle -- who can say no to a Money Savvy Pig?

But part of it is that she needs to start really understanding the value of money (and we probably need to start with an allowance, in return for her fulfilling responsibilities). And it's a good way for her to track what she has.

And besides, it's a blue pig!
