Mindy Clarke on CSI?
Feb. 11th, 2003 07:08 amSo, I'm skimming the latest Zentertainment, and there's this blurb:
Lady Heather Returns in a 90-minute CSI
-
Elizabeth Berkley (Showgirls, Saved by the Bell) guest
stars on a special 90-minute episode of CSI: CRIME
SCENE INVESTIGATION this Thursday night at 9:30, on CBS.
In the episode - "Lady Heather's Box" - Melinda Clarke
returns for another guest appearance as dominatrix Lady
Heather, whose romantic relationship with Grissom
continues until she becomes a murder suspect in an
investigation into the death of two male escorts.

Mindy Clarke has been on CSI before? The woman who made Return of the Living Dead III enjoyable? Holy shit. Why wasn't I told about this before?

Chicago and other Oscar stuff
Feb. 11th, 2003 10:13 amYes! Thirteen nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director (Rob Marshall), Best Actress (Renee Zellweger, also known as the Future Mrs.
yendi, if my evil plan works out), 2X Best Supporting Actress (Queen Latifah and Catherine Zeta Jones, who will probably nullify each other, but I'd love a tie), Best Supporting Actor (John C. Reilly), Costumes, Art Direction, Cinematography, Sound, Original Song ("I Move On"), Adapted Screenplay (Bill Condon), and Editing. Of those, it hands-down deserves at least half of those (notably Picture, Screenplay, and the supporting actor/actress nods for Latifah and Relly [and yes,
shadesong, I know that you think Ed Harris deserves it, and he'll probably get it, since the awards are as often as not for body of work (Pollack), as anything else], as well as costumes), and there's not one that I'd be upset to see it win.
Other notables:The animated films category has five flicks: Ice Age ; Lilo & Stitch ; Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron ; Spirited Away ; Treasure Planet. Sing it with me, folks: One of these things is not like the other, one of them doesn't belong. Four good films (of which Spirited Away is easily the one that deserves the award, though), and Spirit. Someone in Hollywood is on Crack. Oh, wait, I forgot. Everyone in Hollywood is on crack.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding (a cute romantic comedy, imho) is up only for Best Original Screenplay, even though it was adapted from Nia's play (let's hear it for loopholes!).
Oh, and Nick Cage is up again for best actor. Shoot me now. No nepotism in Hollwood, my ass.
Anyway, the list is up at

Key Lime Pie
Feb. 11th, 2003 10:21 amI mentioned that I'd post the recipe, since it no longer resembles the recipe I started with:
( Key Lime Pie Goodness ahead )
( Key Lime Pie Goodness ahead )
Our network was down for over two hours. No work could be done. And, of course, little slacking off could be done, either, since most of that involves LJ. :-) Eating lunch only killed part of that time. Worse, when I got back online just now, I got spam with the heading, Tired of Deleting junk e-mail?. Suuure. I bet any spammer makes a great spamblocking product. It might just happen to let spam from one particular sender in no matter what, though.
