Watched The Eye last night, which was neither all that nor a bag of a chips. It certainly wasn't bad, per se, but it was easily the most westernized J-horror film I've seen in years (all they needed was a sex scene), which makes you wonder why they'd bother with an American remake. A couple of nifty moments, but nothing all that original. It is nice to see a slower-paced horror flick that works on creepiness as a motivator, but too many films have done it better. And the out-of-nowhere Final Destination scene did nothing to help matters.

I do want to re-edit it to have the kid in the hallway saying, "I want my two dollars," instead of, "have you seen my report card." That'd be a lot more amusing.

Otherwise, watched my Mets lose again. Really, who needs horror movies when you're a Mets fan?

And we introduced Elayna to The Empire Strikes Back yesterday. Finally exposing her to the classics. I told her this morning that today, she'd see her first Ewok. She asked what that was, to which her mommy replied only, "jub-jub."

(And yeah, I hate the Ewoks, but this is a child who still thinks that Jar-Jar was a great creation, and compared to him, the Ewoks are practically Shakespearean).

[livejournal.com profile] shadesong and [livejournal.com profile] kaosfox saw Episode 3 last night. As I've stated before, I've got no intention of paying good money to see it, but 'song said she enjoyed it.

Oh, I did catch the season finale of Medium, finally. Damned fine. Haven't watched the season finale of House yet.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] laurel, over at TVpicks.net, reports that The WB will re-air the season finale of Gilmore Girls next Tuesday, allowing those of us who were fucked over by the network's asshat programmers to see the whole episode.

Speaking of that site, TVPicks can also use your help, given some nasty financial news over there.

And finally, tonight's the season finale of Lost! Woohoo!

So, I try to eat healthy on occasion. But reading the ingredient labels on my breakfast cereals was a little disturbing:

My all-time favorite cereal* is Quaker's Crunchy Corn Bran. It's high-fiber, mostly unsweetened, and incredibly yummy, either in milk or as a dry snack. But, for reasons that make no fucking sense to me, the good folks at Quaker have added fucking partially-hydrogenated soybean oil to it! Yes, they've taken a product known for its heart-healthy qualities, and added something with trans-fat.

But it get worse. I also like Kellogg's All Bran Buds. These things are basically the real-life version of Colon Blow. And they've go motherfucking high-fructose corn syrup in them!

I can live without the Bran Buds (no matter how healthy the 764 grams of fiber are). But I really really don't want to give up my Crunchy Corn Bran, dammit! *grumble*

*Seriously (not Cerealsly), I don't go for the sugary cereals, although I'll gladly eat them if they're around.

Spencer Bachus, an Alabama congressman who spends his spare time praying for the opportunity to teabag Rick Santorum and masturbating to fantasies of the same, has accused Bill Maher of "Borderline Treason."

I'm sure that Maher is just hurt and insulted by this.

So, whose the preppiest officer in the Empire?

It's Grand Muffy Tarkin, of course.

Going home now.
