The 18 Days, 18 Deals deal of the day is a Buy 2, Get 1 Free offer on a bunch of PS3 Greatest Hit games. This includes Resistance: Fall of Man, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, Ratchet and Clank Future, and more.

The Deal of the Day is on Lost: The Complete Seasons 1-5. The Blu-Ray version is $108.99 (70% off), and the regular DVD version is $72.99 (70% off).

Dead Space is $15-16 (depending on platform).

Ditto Army of Two and Mirror's Edge.

Lord of the Rings: Conquest is $14.99 for the PS3.

In games, there's a huge sale on Scene It? games, with 40-50% off most of them (including Star Trek, Twilight, Dilbert, and more).

In kitchenware, the KitchenAid Professional 600 Series 6-quart Stand Mixer has dropped to $323.99 (35% off), with free shipping and a $50 rebate offer (dropping the final total to under $275). As always, take rebate offers with a grain of salt, but the price is still solid (especially with the free shipping).

The Wire: The Complete Series is down to $99.99 (60% off)! That's $20 a season for some damned fine storytelling.

Six Feet Under: The Complete Series is $87.99 (51% off), also with some damned fine storytelling.

Saved by the Bell is going for $9.99 for the combined first two seasons, the combined third and fourth seasons, and the standalone fifth season. The storytelling here isn't quite as solid. :-)

A few previous deals that are still active: The Complete Farscape, The Criterion Collection, Guitar Hero Smash Hits, Disney, Muppets, Dreamworks, V, Monty Pytthon, George Carlin, Homicide: Life on the Street, and U is for Undertow.

Um, what?

So, according to this article, John Malkovich is in talks to join the cast of Spider-Man 4 as The Vulture.

Sounds good so far. Mind you, Vulture's not exactly my favorite villain, but it's a solid casting choice, and the character himself is a classic Spidey bad guy,

But wait, there's more: Anne Hathaway might join the cast as Felicia Hardy.

That's awesome. While I can't picture her with Hardy's blond locks, she does have the body for the role, and is a damned talented actress. And Black Cat is a natural Spidey character, providing Spidey with the "hot feline-themed thief with sexual chemistry" that Catwoman plays to Batman (because not every idea at the House of Ideas necessarily got its start there). So I'm cool with this.

But wait! There's even more! Although Hathaway will be playing Felicia Hardy, Hardy will not be The Black Cat. Instead, she'll be -- wait for it -- The Vulturess.

Really.

The Vulturess.

The term for a female vulture, incidentally, is "vulture." So that's not an excuse for the name (and even if it was, nothing's an excuse for the concept).

The term for a group of vultures, incidentally, is a committee. Which is likely where this brilliant idea comes from.
