The days of posting deals every day are dying down (I'll likely be at once or twice a week staring in the new year).

The Christmas post has some deals on video games (AC3 and Sleeping Dogs are still active), Kindle books (Bujold and Wurts), and baseball DVDs. Monday's post has deals on MP3 albums at $1.99 a pop, digital downloads of LEGO and other good games, and Harry Potter movies. Sunday's post has awesome deals on I Love Lucy, Batman Beyond, and the Rocky movies. Saturday's post has B5, BBC stuff, Dredd, Kindle deals, MP3s, kitchen stuff, and more.

In video games, Mass Effect Trilogy is $39.99 (33% off) for the PS3 or Xbox. Ditto Dishonored, WWE '13, and the premium edition of Battlefield 3 for both systems.

For the Vita, Call of Duty: Black Ops - Declassified is $29.99 (40% off), and Mortal Kombat is $14.99 (25% off).

In downloads, Hotline Miami is $4.99 (50% off), with the $5 credit next week.

Once again, the Kindle Daily Deals are all interesting. The Daily Deal is on Biographies and Memoirs, with ten different books for $1.99 a pop. Highlights include Jenny (Bloggess) Lawson's Let's Pretend this Never Happened (which is awesome and something everyone should read), Caitlin Moran's How to be a Woman, and Ron Chernow's Washington: A Life. The Romance Daily Deal is on The Host by Stephanie Meyer for $1.99. The Sci-fi Deal (even though the book doesn't contain any monsters or spaceships) is on The Handmaid's Tale by Atwood for $1.99. And the Kid's Daily Deal is Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Book 1 for $1.99.

Most of the Gold Box Deals of the Day on electronics accessories are kind of uninteresting to me, but the shock-resistant Transcend Information 1 TB USB 3.0 External Hard Drive for $74.99 (36% off/$16 below normal pricing) is nice, as is the Zoom H1 - Special Edition White Handy Recorder for $66.99 (58% off/$30 below other deals). Zoom recorders are awesome, by the way.

In Blu-Ray, Soul Eater - Complete Series [Blu-ray]Soul Eater - The Complete Series is $20.99 (65% off). Lone Wolf & Cub Complete Collection on is $16.99 (72% off), although backordered, while Shogun Assassin - 5 Film Collector's Edition is $22.99 (74% off).

If you had a crappy holiday yesterday, Black Christmas (the original version) on Blu-Ray is $6.49 (68% off).

And on DVD, How I Met Your Mother: The Complete Seventh Season is $12.99 (68% off).

In books, pre-orders of The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia are $19.43 (44% off).

The Walking Dead Compendiums are $34.40-$35.67 (41-43% off). Each one includes 48 issues of the comic.

And the Buffy: The Making of a Slayer box is $30 (40% off).

We didn't make it down here last year, and since we're not Christian, we effectively haven't celebrated Christmas for two years. But it's great to be back with family, and in two years, the changes are amazing. There are now two baby cousins in the family (both one year old, born on the same day), meaning that Elayna and her one-day-younger cousin are no longer the young'uns. And 'song's birth-aunt's mother is no longer hosting a Christmas lunch, so the day meant staying at home all day.

When we got down here on Sunday, Elayna was dragged off to the aforementioned cousin's house (along with the other "kids," both of whom are now old enough to drink) to make gingerbread houses. Then on Christmas eve, we went to the annual party over there, where we ate yummy venison chili and admired the houses (and voted on them). That's where we met the two babies, as well as a few other relatives we'd never seen before.

Yesterday was the usual madhouse of gifts. For all my liking of toys, I tend to enjoy watching other folks open gifts more than getting my own, so I was happy to see that Elayna got the single thing she'd most wanted (a Wacom tablet), as well as lots of things she loves (jewelry, nail polish, clothing, bookstore gift cards). I got Dominion: Dark Ages and the new shaver I needed, so I'm good.

We then did lunch here, which was overwhelming. There was ham, lasagna, pastitsio, a turducken, and a million other things to eat. I'd never really understood the notion of a Christmas "dinner" starting in the early afternoon, but we ate so much, that one meal really did take us through the day.

And people kept coming. There were dozens of folks in and out, and when it hit 6 and it seemed like that was over, along came one more couple and their three kids. Then two hours later, after they'd left, came another family friend and some more older kids. Neverending, I tell you. Fortunately, it's a busy enough environment that ducking out for a periodic breather is okay. And 'song and I went for a nice walk where we met the sweetest grey cat ever (she was very, very vocal and insisted we play with her for a good ten minutes). Also, we were two of the only three pedestrians we saw, because A) Christmas, and B) Florida.

Anyway, hi from northern FL. I'm pigging out and generally having fun. And damn, I miss our cats.

Wifi is down over here, so we're sharing a cable like it's an eye of the Graeae. Between that and an outing tomorrow, I'll basically not be online until Friday morning at the earliest.
