Podcast recommendations?
Apr. 29th, 2011 07:56 amI'll be away from most of the Internets all day (although likely active on Twitter), at the AcademiX conference at Northeastern (which is also at Emory, Ohio State, and San Diego State; yay, technology). If it's half as good as yesterday's pre-conference on epub, ibooks, and the actual creation process (with a huge focus on accessibility and other stuff), it'll be awesome.
But in lieu of content, a question:
I've started actually going to a gym. And as a way of combining my interests in both multitasking and avoiding interacting with other people, I like to use my iPod. I prefer listening to podcasts to music when doing so. I'd rather have a backlog of podcasts to listen to than run out, so tell me what your favorite podcasts are. I'm only interested in audio ones, of course. My primary criteria are that the podcast be entertaining and interesting. Big names are largely irrelevant to me.
Ones I subscribe to already include: I Should be Writing, Kingdom of Loathing, Nerdist, the Guardian's Science Weekly, and My Life as a Foodie.
What else should I add?

Date: 2011-04-30 04:53 am (UTC)They podcast for Cascadia.fm, which has a still-growing line-up of shows covering a bunch of interests (video games, soccer, technology, knitting, miscellaneous geek stuff). Maybe take a look at what's offered. And I told you before about some of the shows Dawn Taylor's on, Legion of News (with Rick Emerson) and Ham-Fisted Radio (also with Fatboy). Those two are on Cascadia.fm.

Date: 2011-05-01 02:55 am (UTC)The Gearheart is an adventure tale that's genre-blending (steampunk and fantasy, to name two), over-the-top, and a lot of fun. Worth checking out.
