"It's hamburger," says I.
"No, just pack a sandwich. Because the hamburgers at school have fish in the middle," she responded.
Pause.
"Umm, sweetie? Are you sure you're not thinking of fish sandwiches?"
Pause.
"I'm sure."
Okay, I'm not sure, but it's not like I want to cajole her into eating a crappy burger if she doesn't want it. But confusing fish sandwiches and burgers takes a little bit of work.
Then again, this is the kid who told us that she had fish sticks for breakfast on the day she had French toast sticks.
