To expand on this, it has always struck me in watching "Buffy" that Willow was the one that upheld the formalities of magickal Law, often to the advantage of the other characters. And when she fucked around with the Law, she was the first to receive the consequences. Willow understands the Torah, and the esoteric implications of that in magic probably more thoroughly and intuitively than the other characters.
