1. Large safety pins sell out fast when the Glenn Clothing Sale approaches (we're sellers there this year, and you need the large pins to hold items to hangers).

2. I'm almost certain to get strep in the next week or so.

3. Insular communities of assholes, no matter how cool their interests may seem at first, are still insular communities of assholes, and lash out at those who threaten the status quo of their community.

4. My 100% losing record in primary elections continues, unabated.

5. One should not skip dinner because one is busy. It only results in a heavy late-night meal.

6. All of the old Infocom games are easily downloadable at http://www.latz.org/games/list.shtml (just change the file extensions to ".z3" to get Zoom or another Z-code reader to run 'em).

7. The one helpdesk employee here who I believed was just mildly incompetent is actually the dumbest person I've ever worked with.

8. Opening one's mail can lead to nice surprises, including a certain ARC that one of you sent me. :-)

9. Shin splints suck (okay, I learned that lesson years ago, but I need a refresher course every once in a while, I guess).

10. I like rounding my lists up to ten items.

Enjoy. Note that it is actually mislabeled an ARC. It's actually an Uncorrected Galley Proof, meaning that it has yet to be copy edited.

Shin splints DO suck. I never need reminders :)

As for the strep, I'd say try some echinacea and eucalyptus tea. It kept mine from coming back last summer. It may work, it might not. But I say its worth a shot.

I got the hyooge shot instead of the pills - it's supposed to work *much* faster. My fever topped out at 100.8 today, and I'm much cooler now, and feeling fine but for my throat; my period of contagion is almost over...

So, barring any other chaos, the party is still on! I'll keep y'all posted.

[livejournal.com profile] tygerlilly had strep a couple weeks ago. I didnt get so much as a sniffle. I chalk it up to my champion white blood cells, she rolls her eyes when I mention it. ;)

While I'm generally in favor of the distribution of abandonware if it really is abandoned, there's a good chance that Activision may rerelease the games (http://www.infocom-if.org/news.html), (if I'm reading between the lines correctly.) So stay legal, y'all.

Voting record..

Since 1976, my 'candidate' for president has won exactly one time. And that was in 2000 with good ol' GW.

Yeah, that sure doesn't look like I won that one, either.

I'm an 'indie' and a split my vote all the time.

Yeah, I suck in Presidential elections too. I turned 18 in 1980 and the only one I've ever voted for that won was Clinton. And although I stand by his Presidency, I was so pissed off about him that I left the Democratic party and became a Libertarian.

I recently realized I was a Libertarian myself. ;) Latest stuff with Bush has convinced me not to vote for him again this year, so... "Ah feel your pain." ;)
