For the record, if I'm ever in a persistent vegetative state, I want you all to randomly split up and make a huge fucking fuss over me, file tons of lawsuits, and make the government pay more attention to me than to things like the House leader's list of ethical violations, the ongoing clusterfuck in Iraq, the upcoming clusterfucks in China/Taiwan, Korea, Syria/Lebanon, and Iran, the continued failure of the "No Child Left Behind" act, the economy that penalizes personal debt but rewards a growing national one, and the continued attempts to rape what's left of our wilderness. Because, shit, if I go, why not take the rest of the world with me?
Sure hope Terri Schiavo was/is a nihilist.

He lived on in a terrible state for another week, and after the family got over the horror and trauma of seeing what had been done to him against his explicit wishes, they got enormous bills for his "care".

Otherwise, you're right. I did note the sarcasm... *sigh*
One other thing about the bankruptcy issue - since it's very easy to file lawsuits in this country, the new bankruptcy laws might really screw over some small businesses (sole proprieterships, anyway) - I'm a good example. Creditor decided that my payment arrangement wasn't adequate, so they pushed a lawsuit on me knowing that I couldn't afford to defend myself. With tighter bankruptcy laws, people are now going to find themselves becoming nearly indentured servants, with ruined credit *and* court-ordered payment plans. Blah.
