Wow.

I fucking love this show.

I kept expecting to see Locke lose the loss of his legs in the flashbacks, either as the result of the operation, or from a hunting accident. Nice job building false anticipation.

If Boone dies, Locke's got a lot of guilt to process -- he had to know, in light of his dream, that Boone was destined for an injury. Then again, given his belief in the island and destiny, he might accept that this was meant to be (and the island could, in fact, have been telling him to get Boone out of the way before revealing its secret to him).

Boone dying would also make sense, as he's a character with nowhere to go. Aside from just being a whiner and a wanker, he's really already completed what little arc he had potential for, and other than running with a jealousy plotline over his stepsister, there's nothing left for him. Plus, he annoys me.

Also, given the impending birth of the baby/antichrist/whatever, a death to balance it is a natural way to go.

I loved seeing Locke without confidence. The flashbacks continue to rule,

And the Sawyer plotline was just plain fun. Everyone caught the book he was reading, right? Could tesseracts be involved in their predicament? :-)

Finally, that final moment, with the light coming on, was just about the last thing I expected. I kept assuming that the inside of the hatch was a macguffin, and that the numbers were all that mattered.

I don't think Boone will die. I think he'll be paralyzed. There's a symmetry to that, don't you think?

We've seen Sawyer reading Watership Down too. Maybe we'll learn events are being controlled by evil Nazi bunnies.

I keep hearing about this show and finally saw an episode last night. And I have absolutely no clue what's going on.

do you have the sense the writers know where it's going? because, like, I suffered through the X-Files. it scarred me. I'm never again watching a mythology-heavy show unless I'm convinced it's gonna pay off in the end. it's why I also ditched 24 after a season.

I think they do.

I'm pretty sure they do.

I really, really hope they do...

Personnally, I never got into the X-Files. I tried it - I'm a geek, you know? It was supposed to be our show! But I could never get into it.

Babylon 5, on the other hand.... that was a good mythology-heavy show. I only wish they hadn't had to rush the ending the way they had.

Never watched 24.

right, but toward the end of the first season of 24 it became clear that the writers had no idea all along how it was all gonna fit together.

Plus, actually contacting someone on the airplane radio? Buh? Supposedly, the person responded to Boone, saying, "there were no sruvivors of Oceanic Flight 815". I don't have any confirmation on that yet.

And yeah, it's looking like Boone is going to snuff it. Of course, they could fake us out.

As long as they don't pull a Carnivale, I'll be happy. ;)

that was what it sounded like to me.

Also: I don't know if Locke knew Boone would get injured. He may have thought the bleeding Boone from his dreams was symbolic.

Footballs? Regulation aisle 8, Nerf aisle 15. It just keeps getting weirder with the numbers.

My coworker and I have been reading some of the message boards (because we are huge losers) and apparently if you plug The Numbers in as latitude and longitude coordinates, you get this (http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?searchtype=address&formtype=latlong&latlongtype=degrees&latdeg=4&latmin=15&latsec=23&longdeg=8&longmin=16&longsec=42).

Spooky!!!

For a show I'm never home to watch, I'm sure hooked on it.

I know I saw "Nigeria" on that map last night.

Last night's episode was awesome!

I agree that Boone doesn't have much of a purpose on the show anymore. If he were to kick it, I wouldn't complain.

The light coming on at the end completely freaked me out. I was expecting that the island would finally have let Locke completely down. I can't wait for the DVDs so that I can watch the episodes all back to back, over and over and over.... Heh.
