Wow.

I fucking love this show.

I kept expecting to see Locke lose the loss of his legs in the flashbacks, either as the result of the operation, or from a hunting accident. Nice job building false anticipation.

If Boone dies, Locke's got a lot of guilt to process -- he had to know, in light of his dream, that Boone was destined for an injury. Then again, given his belief in the island and destiny, he might accept that this was meant to be (and the island could, in fact, have been telling him to get Boone out of the way before revealing its secret to him).

Boone dying would also make sense, as he's a character with nowhere to go. Aside from just being a whiner and a wanker, he's really already completed what little arc he had potential for, and other than running with a jealousy plotline over his stepsister, there's nothing left for him. Plus, he annoys me.

Also, given the impending birth of the baby/antichrist/whatever, a death to balance it is a natural way to go.

I loved seeing Locke without confidence. The flashbacks continue to rule,

And the Sawyer plotline was just plain fun. Everyone caught the book he was reading, right? Could tesseracts be involved in their predicament? :-)

Finally, that final moment, with the light coming on, was just about the last thing I expected. I kept assuming that the inside of the hatch was a macguffin, and that the numbers were all that mattered.

Footballs? Regulation aisle 8, Nerf aisle 15. It just keeps getting weirder with the numbers.
