Julie Schwartz, RIP

Peter David is reporting that Julie passed away this weekend. Julie was one of the first fathers of sci-fi fandom, and the man at DC during much of the Silver Age -- he's up there with Stan Lee in his importance to the industry. I was lucky enough to finally shake his hand at last year's DragonCon. He'll be missed. A lot.

Impatient? Me?

One day I'll be disciplined enough to actually wait until the brownies are completely cooled before cutting them. Until then, I'll settle for brownies that are ugly but tasty.

Kings of Chaos update

It's hard not to suspect the folks with armies in the four digits already and treasuries of $25K of cheating just a little bit. But cheating happened in the last game, too, and I still held my own.
