[livejournal.com profile] shadesong has successfully finished Blog-a-Thon, and you can read the entries in her LJ. Any of the recent entries will also give information on supporting RAINN (you can continue to support any blog-a-thonner after they finish blogging, of course). Yay for my blissfully sleeping sweetie!

Props to the others who made it, as well:

[livejournal.com profile] theferrett successfully finished his blogging last night, but I'm sure will continue to make the entries (available friends-only in a blog-a-thon LJ he created) to anyone who donates to The National Hemophilia Association, as detailed in this post.

[livejournal.com profile] correspondguy has been blogging on behalf of multiple charities and in support of other blog-a-thonners. See info about his efforts here.

And [livejournal.com profile] karlita has been blogging in support of all the other bloggers as well. [livejournal.com profile] museumfreak also did some support blogging, and is offering art incentives to others who support the bloggers. There are other incentives scattered throughout the various posts I've linked above.

EDIT: It's not just that these folks have been writing for good causes. It's that they've been writing good stuff for those causes. Give them props on both fronts, folks.

Congrats to everyone who participated, and good luck for anyone doing it next weekend!

Well, as you probably gathered from that last post, I'm back in Atlanta.

Had a very nice lunch (mmm, crepes) with [livejournal.com profile] ariadnesthread and [livejournal.com profile] erinpoetchica. I hadn't seen [livejournal.com profile] ariadnesthread in two or three years, and the only time I'd met [livejournal.com profile] erinpoetchica was a run-by-hugging a number of years ago. It was good to actually sit and chat with them for a while. After lunch, we headed towards the Metro, but were distracted by a used book store, so we all had to spend money. But we all resisted spending money on the really expensive things we couldn't afford. Really.

'twas a good day, even if I then had to say goodbye.

The flight back was mostly uneventful, for once. Aside from the stupid no-standing within half an hour of DC rule (really sucks when you drink an extra-large coffee right before getting on the plane). Hopped on Marta, and was home in time to see [livejournal.com profile] shadesong at the halfway point of the Blog-a-thon. Saw Museumfreak and two of her friends (whose names completely escape me now), and chatted for a while before heading to bed.

At some point, I'll have to compile a list of the books I bought in DC. Managed to spend money in four out of the five bookstores I was in (not counting museum stores). Go me. :-)

Yum

Me: I think I'll have vegetarian sausage for dinner.

[livejournal.com profile] shadesong: And the point of vegetarian sausage would be. . .?

Me: They use carrot intestines.
